They are capable of handling high-concentration slurries with concentrations ranging from 50% to 60% (by weight).

The flow passage components of the PN-type mud pump are manufactured from wear-resistant alloy materials, ensuring an extended service life. For pumps with a size of 6 inches and smaller, the slurry sand impeller is connected to the shaft via threaded joints; in contrast, mud pumps of 8 inches and larger utilize key connections. Additionally, the clearance between the impeller and its housing, as well as between the impeller and the guard plate, can be easily adjusted to maintain optimal operational efficiency. Notably, mud pumps of 8 inches and larger feature a robust pump body designed with a horizontal split structure, which facilitates convenient disassembly, assembly, and maintenance operations.
The shaft seal uses a standard packing seal, and during operation, clean water should be injected into the seal at a pressure 1 kg/cm² higher than the working pressure.

PN-type mud pumps, when viewed from the direction of transmission, rotate counterclockwise (with 1, 2, and 3PN models rotating clockwise). When the impeller is connected to the shaft via threads, reversing the rotation could cause the impeller to disengage from the shaft, potentially leading to a hazardous accident.
